The beautiful fall foliage and the cooler comfortable temperatures make it the perfect time to take long sight seeing drives and visit a few indoor attractions in the Midwest.
Each month I brainstorm and come up with a few places to visit that are all within driving distance. Living in rural Midwest makes it necessary to drive a bit to find some of the most amazing places in the heartland of the United States. If I could break out my Canon T3i and capture some amazing timeless memories. I may not be able to venture to all of my bucket list places but I still like to keep them as an option.
St Louis Arch: St Louis Missouri
I haven’t visited the St Louis Arch in at least 10 years. I loved going up to the observation deck at the top inside the arch. The views are amazing! Taking another trip to the arch is at the top of my November bucket list.
Arabia Steamboat Museum: Kansas City, Missouri
I have never visited Kansas but found this interesting museum. The steamboat was build in 1853, and sunk in 1856 but the location was lost over time. In 1988 it was finally found after years of searching for the steamboat. The Arabia Steamboat has a very interesting story and seems like an intriguing place to visit.
The Henry Ford: Detroit Michigan
I have visited Detroit Michigan several times, but not with my family. I think heading to Michigan and exploring the history of our car industry would be a fun trip for the whole family. At The Henry Ford we can visit the Henry Ford Museum, Greenfield Village, take the Ford Rouge Factory tour, and experience the Giant Screen.
Lake of the Ozarks
I have only driven through the Lake of the Ozarks one time during the summer months. I can only imagine the beauty of the area at this time of the year. The fall foliage would be to die for!
Skydeck Chicago – Willis Tower
A few years ago my older kids, my sister in law, a friend and I took a road trip to Chicago and visited the Willis Tower and the Skydeck. It was actually the year I began blogging. I think it would be cool to visit the tower again and look at the city during the autumn season from the Skydeck.
This is my short bucket list of places I would like to visit in the Midwest this fall. What is on your travel bucket list?
