This Halloween I have really gotten into the spooky spirit. I have made a couple of Halloween treats, created Halloween printable stickers for my planner, and now I have made a cute cheap Halloween centerpiece.
I was lucky enough to find everything used in this centerpiece at the Dollar Tree store. Oh and the twigs were found in my backyard. I found several centerpieces on Pinterest that inspired me, but for some reason this Halloween season I have been obsessed with a spider. I even attempted to find Landon a spider costume but settled on something entirely different.
I decided to create my Halloween table centerpiece including a few spiders. I took a trip to the Dollar Tree and picked up a simple glass vase that I can reuse for other seasons, two packages of candy corn, and a package of plastic bugs. I walked out of the Dollar Tree spending less than $5 including tax. At home Landon and I took a walk at the tree line behind my apartment building and found a few twigs. Then in the house I picked up a toilet paper roll and a couple cotton balls.
To construct my spooky centerpiece, I first placed the toilet paper roll in the vase. Then stuck the twigs inside the toilet paper roll arranging them like you would flowers.
Then I placed the cotton balls at the top of the toilet paper roll where the twigs came out at the top.
I started filling the vase with candy corn around the toilet paper roll and the cotton balls helped block any holes at the top so the candy corn would stay between the glass and the toilet paper roll. I used both bags of candy corn to fill the vase.
After I filled the vase up I used my hot glue gun to glue the spiders on the twigs as if they were crawling on the branches and that’s it.
It was so simple to put together. Since I didn’t spend much on the supplies, I can afford to get rid of all but the vase after Halloween.
